It’s extremely hot in Florida! If you aren’t prepared for intense heat, you might find it overwhelming. From May through August, temperatures soar, coinciding with school vacations and peak tourist season. If you’re planning a visit during these months, make sure you’re ready to handle the heat!
Plan your day with the heat in mind. Prepare by packing frozen water bottles and Gatorades in your backpack. Opt for light, loose-fitting clothing, and choose comfort over style. Consider wearing flip-flops for better ventilation and the ease of slipping them off when you find some shade. Leave your Nike Air Maxes, Converse chucks, and high heels at home to avoid discomfort like toe cramps and heat exhaustion. Take breaks in air-conditioned gift shops and try to schedule meals before the peak times to avoid the rush and secure a place to sit. When possible, make reservations at restaurants to ensure you can sit and cool off after a long day.
