Whaaaaaat??? (Minion voice) No masks?
Universal Studios has updated its mask protocol: masks are now required only for indoor establishments and when waiting in line for a ride. This means, thankfully, that while walking outside in Florida’s heat, masks are not required. Despite the change, I was still in shock and chose to wear my mask most of the time, removing it only when I sat to rest in the shade. It was hard to believe the day had finally come. Interestingly, less than 25% of people took advantage of this new policy.
Before you take your seat on the ride, you’ll be asked to sanitize your hands, with someone physically applying the sanitizer for you. It’s quite a different approach—Disney doesn’t do that. Perhaps they should consider it, as it ensures proper hygiene during both entering and exiting the ride.
